San Antonio Composting Project
At the San Antonio Composting Project, we collect food scraps from homes, schools, and local venues to turn waste into healthy, living soil. Through compost pickup, education, and community partnerships, we make it easy for San Antonians to reduce landfill waste and build a more sustainable city.
Compost
SACP works with commercial businesses such as the Alamodome, coffee roasters, and food pantries on demand to pick up compostable food waste. We also have a presence on several school campuses, and are currently planning a whole campus composting system for one of the universities in San Antonio.
Volunteer
We welcome a wide range of volunteers including: Drivers (SUV/truck) to pick up food waste, Physical helpers to unload at depot locations on weekdays, Marketing and web/social media support, Fundraising, legal, and operational support, Master gardeners for speaking engagements, and more.
